Super Bowl XLVI pits the New York Giants against the New England Patriots in a rematch of Super Bowl XLII, when the wild-card Giants stunned the previously undefeated Patriots in one of the biggest upsets in sports history.
The Giants entered Super Bowl XLII as 12-point underdogs against the Patriots, the first team to post a perfect regular-season record since the 1972 Miami Dolphins.
But Eli Manning out-dueled Tom Brady and became the first quarterback to throw two go-ahead touchdowns in the 4th quarter of a Super Bowl.
This year the teams are more evenly matched, with the Patriots opening as 3.5-point favorites. New York has been on a roll, having won six of its last seven regular season and playoff games after starting the season 6-6. New England cruised to a 13-3 regular season record behind quarterback Tom Brady and the second-best passing offense in the NFL.
The Super Bowl is on Feb. 5 at Lucas Oil stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
