Assange speaks out: US drums up case against me, time running out

The world's top whistleblower says he's optimistic about his political asylum bid. In his first public comment since walking into the Ecuadorian embassy in London with a request for sanctuary, Julian Assange also said the U.S. was building a case against him over leaked cables. He applied for refuge as he faces extradition from Britain to Sweden, which could eventually see him transferred across the Atlantic.
