Engaging with communities around Bastion 15.03.12

When choosing a location for the main operating base in Helmand, military planners picked a strategic location that was in the middle of a large plain, miles from the nearest settlement.

However after six years of growth Camp Bastion now has several local settlements neighbouring its ever-growing perimeter.

British Forces News has been on patrol with members of the Bastion Force Protection Wing to see how their role now includes local engagement.
