Police in Peru have arrested a handful of young men in Lima with tattoos representing the Mara Salvatrucha, the violent gang that originated in L.A. in the 80's by Central American immigrants. In the last two decades the gang has spread to El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico and across Central American immigrant groups in the U.S.. Authorities are now looking into the gang's possible presence in Peru as well.
