ELITE TV NEWS SPECIAL: CASTROVILLE PEACE IN THE STREETS RALLY 2012

Popular EMG/Universal Music Hip Hop group, The S.O.G. Crew, mend the division in hip hop music culture between Northern and Southern California through community activism. Castroville hosts a 2nd Annual Peace in the Streets Unity Rally led by Debbie Martin this past June 2nd, where leaders from different religious affiliations, political offices, civic service branches, and community, along with a 2012 United States Vice Presidential Candidate join arms in reaching out to the community to demonstrate peaceful living by marching to a cadence of peace and filling the air with sounds of music at the all day festival. Each representing office, church, and department were given the opportunity to speak out on their commitment and hopes for a peaceful community. Castroville is ranked #1 in homicides amongst young people in the state of California. The hip hop group, known for their community activism and gang/drug/suicide intervention in the United States was invited to spur the young people into seeking peace in their lives, workplace, school, and on the streets. Lead vocalist for The S.O.G. Crew from Anaheim, CA goes by the stage name of 'Battle Ax'. He is now axing his way through to the White House as the First Latino U.S. Vice Presidential Candidate under Wiley Drake on the Independent ticket. Dr. Robert 'Battle Ax' Ornelas and the Drake Campaign are a 'write-in' on the November 2012 Elections promoting religious freedom and a return of the nation to its original biblical foundations in the U.S. Constitution.

"Over the years we've had a lot of violence in that area. I can remember 20 years ago that area of Speegle and Sanchez St. was known for gang activity and it dropped off for a while, and picked back up, and then got quiet again, so it appears this is one of those times," said Sheriff's Commander Mike Richards.

"I want to thank Debbie Martin and the good people of Monterey County for hosting the second annual Peace in the Streets march and rally. We are believing with you for change in Castroville. It is our obligation to stand together to reach out and make a difference. We are planning to help Debbie and her staff to come up with solutions for dealing with difficult situations in urban communities of Northern California. As gang Intervention specialists we plan to promote public safety with the specific objective of reducing and stopping gang-related and gang-motivated violence and crime."
