Huge Explosion in Colombia Leaves Up to 5 Dead [GRAPHIC VIDEO]

A bomb attack in a commercial district of Colombia's capital Bogota killed at least two people on Tuesday (May 15) and injured a former interior minister who was the target, the government said. Local news reports said at least five had been killed.

The Colombian government has been battling the leftist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia for five decades, but the guerrilla group has lost strength in recent years and they rarely carry out attacks in the capital.

President Juan Manuel Santos condemned the attack which he said had targeted former minister Fernando Londono.

Although substantially weakened by a U.S.-funded military crackdown, the FARC remain a force to be reckoned with. They stage attacks against police and military installations, set off car bombs in areas already ravaged by drug violence and cause mayhem in other regions.
