Tornado Minneapolis, May 22, 2011 Recap Local News Coverage

This is a recap of the channel surfing I did of broadcast TV for the Minneapolis, Saint Paul area for the Tornado of May 22, 2011. There is some dramatic footage from these news channels. Since Channel 5 had their helicopter up, they did get some of the better over-view early on. North Minneapolis suffered extensive damage, about a 3 1/2 mile long track of destruction and about 300 yards wide through a heavy residential area. 18 minor injuries reported and it was just reported, tragically, there was one death of a man crushed by a tree while in a mini-van. Just as a precaution from me, don't be stepping over power lines. Electricity is invisible and the kind of voltage and electrical current that passes through them can easily give you a deadly jolt if the power lines are laying on wet ground if you are close enough to step over it. Give downed power lines a good birth. More dramatic footage keeps coming in.
