Muslim's hardships in Today's United States with Tariq Ramadan

In June 2012 St. Anthony City Council in Minnesota barred Muslims from building an Islamic Centre in the area. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) believed that the rejection was the result of anti-Muslim bias. In 2010 the building of Cordoba Centre in New York, also called Park 51 project, partially stopped by the opponents, including number of American politicians, who believed it was insulting to build a mosque near the Grand Zero. Muslims are targeted by systematic state surveillance, hatred and social discrimination.

There were incidents that Muslim workers have lost their job over prayer dispute or wearing headscarves. In 2010 an American pastor in Florida announced that he would burn copies of the Quran in the anniversary of 9/11. Polls among them a survey by Pew Research Center shows that 55 percent of Muslim Americans believe it is more difficult to be a Muslim in the United States since 9/11. Patrick Murphy condemns Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett's defense of his state's ultrasound bill

Patrick Murphy, a former U.S. representative and current Democratic candidate for Attorney General in Pennsylvania, decries Gov. Tom Corbett's comment defending the proposed Women's Right to Know Act, which would force women to undergo an invasive ultrasound prior to getting an abortion. "This is another outrageous assault on women. There is a war on women across the country and, unfortunately, here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania," says Murphy.
