A pregnant British woman's appeared in court in Pakistan on drugs smuggling charges. 25-year-old Khadija Shah from Birmingham faces the death penalty.
Shah appeared in court in Islamabad today dressed in a burqa, accompanied by her two children and some other prisoners. She was arrested last month trying to board a flight back to Birmingham after a holiday to see relatives.
Officials discovered 63 kilos of heroin worth £3.2m in several suitcases. Since her arrest the mother's been in police custody with her daughter and son, who are only 4 and 5-years-old. Her brief put in an application for bail today, on account of her being 7-months pregnant and apparently not receiving the right medical care in jail.
Local news reports say Shah denies all the allegations, that she didn't have a clue that drugs were in her bag and that she was doing a favour for men who asked her to carry them. A bail hearing's been set for next Tues with the main case on July the 12th.

Nora Ephron Dies at 71; Writer, Director of American Film Classic 'Sleepless in Seattle'
Nora Ephron, the writer and director of American film classics such as "When Harry Met Sally" and "Sleepless in Seattle," died today at the age of 71.
Ephron died in a New York City hospital after a long battle with leukemia and taxing chemotherapy treatment, friends of hers told ABC News.

The three-time Academy Award nominee was a prolific author, screenwriter, playwright and director who made a name for herself as a pioneer in Hollywood, where she was one of the first women to write and direct her own films. She contributed essays and journalism to outlets including the New York Times and the Huffington Post, for which she last wrote a story in June 2011.
"The loss of Nora Ephron is a devastating one for New York City's arts and cultural community. From her earliest days at New York City's newspapers to her biggest Hollywood successes, Nora always loved a good New York story, and she could tell them like no one else," New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said in a statement. "The books, movies and plays that she set in the world's greatest city are classics that will be enjoyed for generations, but New York City will miss Nora very much. She was a dear friend, and her husband Nick and the rest of her family are in my thoughts and prayers."
She had most recently written the play "Lucky Guy," a drama based on the life of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Mike McAlary, which was expected to open on Broadway in 2013 with Tom Hanks in the starring role.
Ephron's marked film career was known for her charming romantic-comedies that often starred such silver screen icons as Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, and Meg Ryan, with whom she worked multiple times throughout her career. Streep starred in Ephron's first hit film, 1983's "Silkwood," which was directed by Mike Nichols and earned Ephron her first Academy Award for screenwriting.
The pair worked together again on Ephron's memorist film "Heatburn" in 1986, which she based on her tumultuous relationship with her second husband, the journalist Carl Bernstein. Bernstein, who helped crack the Watergate story open at the Washington Post in the early 1970s, reportedly cheated on Ephron during their marriage, which ended in divorce. The couple had two sons before they split, Jacob, now a journalist, and Max, a musician.

Rappers Chris Brown and Drake were at the center of a bar fight, reportedly over singer Rihanna, in a New York club this week. Several people were hospitalized with cuts from broken beer bottles and the nightclub was trashed.

Chris Brown famously dated Rihanna and infamously roughed her up in a domestic violence incident. Shortly afterwards, Rihanna reportedly had a fling with Drake.
You may need to bring a helmet next time you go to the WIP nightclub in New York City. The popular club turned into war zone when rappers Chris Brown and Drake crossed paths. The two began yelling at each other. Witnesses say Drake taunted Brown, saying, "I'm f--kng the love of your life. Deal with it," and that a member of Drake's crew threw the first bottle.
Chaos ensued as the singers' entourages and bodyguards got into a good old-fashioned bottle-breaking bar fight.
Several people were injured in the bar fight, including Brown, who tweeted a photo of himself with a cut on his chin. Brown also tweeted a jab directed at Drake: "How u party with rich n---- that hate? Lol ... Throwing bottles like girls? #shameonya!."

Alec Baldwin punches Daily News photographer in New York with his fiancee Hilaria Thomas
'I knew he was going to attack me. I stepped back, and he kept coming,' says News lens man
Whatever the opposite of marital bliss is, Alec Baldwin got a taste of it this morning, getting into an altercation with a New York Daily News photographer after he and his fiancée went to pick up their marriage license. "He comes after me, starts shoving and punching me," photographer Marcus Santos told the Daily News of the confrontation outside Manhattan's Marriage License Bureau. "One time, right in the chin. And then he started shoving me, and pushing me. Then he goes the other way." Santos filed a complaint against Baldwin and went to a hospital to be examined for injuries. In an interview with ABC News, he later said he was resting, taking painkillers and has consulted a lawyer.
That lawyer, Sanford Bernstein, told ABC News he expects to meet with his client and prosecutors on Wednesday. Baldwin was keeping his options open regarding the possibility of filing his own assault complaint, sources told ABC News.
As a Baldwin spokesman described in a statement Tuesday, Baldwin was the one targeted and assaulted by the photographer, who was "aggressively trying to shoot" him and his fiancée. The statement said that as a civilian tried to block his shot, the photographer "was clearly frustrated, pushed past the bystander and assaulted Alec with his camera. There were no punches thrown, and any subsequent physical contact was simply Alec protecting himself."
The "30 Rock" actor was obtaining a license to wed his fiancée, Hilaria Thomas, Matthew Hiltzik, a spokesman for Baldwin, told ABC News. The two have planned to wed on June 30 at the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral in downtown Manhattan, according to the New York Post.
True to form, Baldwin, 54, vented on Twitter.
"A 'photographer' almost hit me in the face with his camera this morning," he wrote this morning, adding the hash tag, "?#all paparazzi should be water boarded?."
In April, he ranted on Twitter after a Daily News reporter and photographer snuck into and snapped pictures of Thomas' yoga class, calling one of the staffers a "nutty b***h."

Baldwin, who plays a rock club proprietor in the musical Rock of Ages, has a history of anger management issues. Roger Clemens aka "The Rocket" has escaped federal perjury charges after a jury acquitted the New York Yankees pitching great of the six criminal counts against him. The charges stem from 2008 testimony to Congress in which he denied using steroids, or performance-enhancing drugs.

Clemens had been charged with one count of obstruction of Congress, three counts of making a false statement and two counts of perjury. Much of the federal case against Clemens hinged on testimony from Brian McNamee, Clemens' former trainer.
McNamee, who had worked with Clemens at the Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Yankees, said he had injected Clemens with anabolic steroids and human growth hormone between 1998 and 2001.
Over his 24 years in baseball, Clemens won 354 games. He won the Cy Young Award a record seven times. The jury's acquittal would see to clear Clemens for a bid to enter the Baseball Hall of Fame.
But doubts about whether or not Roger Clemens doped remain in the minds of many baseball fans, for whom there will always be an asterisk by Clemens' name.

Thousands march against Stop and Frisk in New York
Over the weekend, crowds of people gathered in the streets of New York City to protest Mayor Bloomberg's notorious Stop and Frisk policy. The demonstration drew nearly 50,000 individuals to participate in a silent march. The program is believed to target minorities in the city and of the individuals who have been stopped by the police, approximately 88 percent of them have been found innocent. Carl Dix of the Revolutionary Communist Party gives us his take on Stop and Frisk and why it must be abolished.

Sex Toy Fools Entire Chinese Village
The discovery of a double-headed sex toy mistaken for a mystical rare fungus brought national notoriety to a Chinese village and TV program this week.
Villagers from Liucunbu, a rural community outside western Chinese city of Xi'an, encountered the sex toy while drilling a new well shaft. Hard-pressed to identify the flexible, fungi-like object, perplexed residents alerted the local news station, which immediately sent reporter Yunfeng Ye to the scene.
In her coverage of the finding, broadcast last Sunday on the station's investigative journalism program Xi'an Up Close, Ye thoroughly probed different aspects of the discovery, interviewing locals and inserting her own research on the alleged mushroom. Despite Ye's earnest reporting, her and the villagers' obliviousness of the object's real identity has now lent itself to national amusement.
Describing the object's qualities in explicit detail, Ye and the villager determine that it is a type of lingzhi, a shelf fungus of the Ganoderma lucidum species, which according to legend has the ability to give immortality. Asserting that the mushroom is rarely seen because it grows underground, she says, "When the Emperor Qin Shi Huang [the First emperor of China] was on the hunt for the secret to longevity, it is said he discovered this lingzhi was the answer."
After the program aired, many viewers immediately recognized the object as a sex toy modeled after female genitalia, and online video of the report gained millions of views overnight. While the video received many comments lauding the station's and villagers' "purity," the day after the program aired the Xi'an news station posted an apology on Sina Weibo, a Chinese blogging website.
"Our program last night made everyone laugh," the apology said, expressing regret for an "uncomfortable and misleading" report. "Our reporter is very young and sheltered."

(NCSO Bust Cavallo) One man is wanted by the Nye County Sheriff Department who they say is the main suspect in connection to two homes used to grow and sell Marijuana.
(Cocaine Bust reader no photo) It's being called the biggest cocaine bust in Nevada's history. Nevada Highway Patrol and Las Vegas Metro Police confiscated 452 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop this morning near Jean, Nevada. The cocaine is estimated to have a street value of $16.4 million dollars. Police say they stopped a truck driver, in a cab only with no trailer, who was traveling northbound on I-15 about 12:30 a.m. this morning. Police say the cocaine was hidden in 10 bags in the sleeper section of the cab. Police made the stop when they noticed the driver Gaston Danjou was driving erratically. A search was conducted by Metro and NHP officers after Danjou gave them conflicting stories. Danjou had come from the Central Valley California area. His destination is
unknown at this time. He is facing charges of possession of cocaine, trafficking cocaine and transporting a controlled substance.
(Blagg Road) Commissioner Butch Borasky gives us an update on the Blagg Road closure and the lawsuit set to be filed by Nye County, against the soil compaction contractor, Spirit Construction Underground. Nye County is claiming that the Las Vegas Company is responsible for the collapse of the brand new roadway and Utility Inc's sewage pump stations. The road, pump stations and sewage lines were constructed, last year, for the Correction Corporations of America Detention Center.
(God's Glory Clothing) A ribbon cutting at the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce this morning, welcomed a new business to town.
(Top Soil) His name is Tom, he's the owner Top Soil Incorporated on Bell Vista and has a very big heart. He is saddened and upset, about the loss of a tree that he has been caring for. The tree started on its own but since the beginning Tom has been watering it. it was almost 6 feet tall when it was mowed down by a county road cleaning vehicle yesterday. The County apologized to Tom about the tree. The location of the tree was on the road easement, regrettably.

Russia and Poland Football Fans Riot in Warsaw at Euro 2012 Championship
Polish and Russian football fans clash in Warsaw Poland street riot ahead of Euro 2012 championship game.

At least three people have been injured as Polish and Russian football fans clashed in Warsaw. Police was forced to fire warning shots and use water cannons to break up the fighting.
According to reports, the Russians were marching through the capital when they were attacked by a mob of Polish youths.
Preliminary reports say at least 3 people were injured, and had to be taken to a nearby hospital for treating head injuries. At least one of the injured was a Polish national, with no information available on the other two casualties.
Warsaw police was forced to fire warning shots and use water cannons to break up the fighting, but clashes in the capital continue. Local news reports police using tear gas against the hooligans, who in turn are throwing stones and firebombs at the police.
Earlier in the day, a mob of some 50 Polish fans attacked a café in central Warsaw where Russian football supporters had gathered before the match. The Polish fans were wearing masks and threw smoke grenades and stones at the cafe. As the Russians fought back, the attackers retreated. One Russian suffered serious head injuries. Police arrived at the scene after the incident was over.
The Russian fans' march was set to coincide with Russia Day, celebrated on the 12th of June, and was sanctioned by city authorities.

(02/06/12) INDIANAPOLIS - Eli Manning and the Giants one-upped Tom Brady and the Patriots again, coming back with a last-minute score to beat New England 21-17 last night in Super Bowl 46.
The game was a rematch of the 2008 NFL championship, when Manning led New York past New England to ruin the Patriots' bid for a perfect season.
